Spider Pest Control
Spider Pest Control – Spiders wander around inside any house and are very hard to control. In many cases they are just a nuisance because of their cobwebs making your home appear unkempt. Beyond that, some domestic species may cause serious bites. Unfortunately, the dangerous species are very common especially in the USA: Hobo Spider, Brown Recluse Spider, Black Widow and the Yellow Sac Spider. Their bites are not just very painful, the symptoms may also include itching, redness, necrotic lesions, puking, sweating and spasms. If such spiders are seen in the house, they should be exterminated as soon as possible. Also harmless spiders can become a problem when triggering severe panic attacks in arachnophobic persons. Spider pest control is a necessity. How to control them?
Spider Pest Control with Spider Traps
Non-poisonous spider traps are a very effective solution in spider control. Using spider sprays means to hunt around the house to locate the spiders. In contrast, spider traps attract them. They are inexpensive and don’t harm neither humans nor pets. Using high quality glue and non-toxic attractants instead of chemicals, they won’t harm yours and your childrens’ health. The number of spiders in a house ranges typically between twenty and hundred (!). They are hard to catch because they wander around in your home especially under cover of darkness. For that reason, spider traps use pheromone-like scents to draw the spiders into the very sticky glue. This kind of traps can be used as a stand alone treatment measure for spiders. Some Spider Traps are completely flat like a sheet, other ones can be folded to form a square box that protects the glue from dust. The traps should be placed in common pathways of spiders and near known spider entrances just as well as in the corners of your rooms.
Chemical repellents are not necessary for Spider Pest Control – use pyrethrins
Most people wrongly equate spiders with insects and try to drive them away with insect repellents without any success – spiders are robust. Beyond that, some insect sprays are very toxic. Certain constituents can cause health problems. If you want to use sprays or other chemical spider repellents, be sure to use agents that are not dangerous for humans and safe for use around children and house pets. Natural light stable pyrethrins are ideal constituents. Also lavender oil, chestnut extracts, clover leaf oil and coconut oil are known to deter spiders successfully. But notice that these soft alternatives are not as effective as pyrethrins.
Ultrasonic waves drive away the spiders and keep them away from infesting your home again. The ultrasonics are pitched at frequencies too high to hear for humans and pets. These sound waves are extremely uncomfortable for spiders and remove them steadily throughout the entire house. Perfectly save for humans, children and pets, sonic spider repellers may also deter rodents. In addition to hypersonic waves, the latest generation uses also special electromagnetic waves which overstimulate the nervous systems of spiders. This combination is reported to be highly effective in fighting spider infestations.
